中國傳統上以香茗而著名，但現在，中國正在崛起成爲另外一種飲料作物——上等阿拉比卡咖啡的亞洲重要產地。</p>
<p>
國際貿易商和焙烤師說，產自中國雲南省的咖啡以低稠度和果香味聞名，業已成爲歐洲阿拉比卡混合咖啡的重要原料。“其淡淡的味道和香味與洪都拉斯或危地馬拉的咖啡豆有些相似。”雀巢咖啡中國農業服務團隊主管鄔特·德司邁特說。</p>
<p>
與其他農作物相比，種植咖啡的收益更高。因此，越來越多的雲南農民開始轉向咖啡種植。德司邁特說，2012年，種植同樣面積咖啡的收益是種植茶葉的兩倍。雀巢於上世紀80年代末開始在雲南展開運營，爲咖啡種植者提供培訓，併購買他們的咖啡。2005年以來，咖啡供應商的數量從147家增加到2000多家。在整個雲南地區，共有超過8萬名農民種植咖啡。</p>
<p>
亞洲出產的大部分咖啡豆屬於羅布斯塔咖啡豆，主要產自越南和印尼，這種質量較差的咖啡豆通常用於製作速溶咖啡。而主要用於製作卡布其諾和特濃咖啡的阿拉比卡咖啡豆是19世紀80年代末由法國傳教士引入雲南的。但直到100年之後，該地區的咖啡生產纔在中國政府和聯合國開發計劃署的投資下蓬勃發展。</p>
<p>
在過去10年中，中國的咖啡出口穩步增長，出口量從1998年的13.7萬袋增長至2012年的110萬袋，與哥斯達黎加持平。雲南咖啡出口商琪琪·程(音)說：“國際貿易對於雲南咖啡的需求正在不斷增長。”</p>
<p>
爲從源頭獲取咖啡，國際咖啡集團和貿易商人開始直接在雲南開展運營。瑞士咖啡貿易公司——沃爾咖啡與中國思茅阿拉比卡星咖啡有限公司建立了合資企業。2012年，星巴克也與雲南愛伲集團成立合資公司。</p>
<p>
這一咖啡生產熱潮的出現正值中國的咖啡消費量以每年15%的速度不斷增長之際。有專家表示，與成熟的咖啡市場相比，中國人對於咖啡產地的意識相對淡薄。程說：“人們其實並不關心他們所喝的咖啡產自何地。”</p>
